And then what a way to ring in the year with the ultimate New Year's Eve party in Vegas, baby!

  • Days 1-2 Las Vegas & Grand Canyon (24/25 Dec)

Leaving the bright lights of Las Vegas behind, today will define the words 'road trip' as you cruise down the original Route 66, formally the main road in the USA for cross country road trips. You'll stop off at the iconic sights such as the quirky town of Seligman which sits frozen in time and has tons of shops full of Americana memorabilia. It's now time for the main event, the mighty Grand Canyon National Park. Nothing you have ever seen before will prepare you for this spectacular sight, it will simply blow your socks off. Christmas at the Grand Canyon is a fairy-tale setting for the holiday celebrations and you'll be full of festive cheer as you lay eyes on the ornately decorated 20-foot-tall Christmas tree rising above the mezzanine level at El Tovar Hotel lobby and the roaring fire at Bright Angel Lodge. With cool daytime temperatures, the winter season really is one of the best times to visit this desert phenomenon. Hike into the canyon itself or enjoy a bird's eye view of one of the world's best natural wonders on an optional scenic helicopter flight. Accommodation: Hotel included

  • Days 3 Monument Valley (26 Dec)

On the road again and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes, used as the set for countless Western movies, including the recent remake of The Lone Ranger. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an optional guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and find out for yourself why this place is a movie directors favourite. As you drive down the long road into Monument Valley, towering mesas and buttes rise from the red desert. The winter season can sometimes treat those who visit with a covering of the white stuff and to see this place with a dusting of snow is one of the best Christmas presents you could ask for! Accommodation: Hotel included

  • Days 4-5 Moab & Arches National Park (27/28 Dec)

With some 2,000 gravity defying sandstone arches striking a pose, Utah's undisputed adventure capital guarantees non-stop fun. With two days here you'll have plenty of time to explore this incredible place. Take a sunset stroll and watch as the sun sets over Delicate Arch or for the action lovers, hire a mountain bike for some adrenalin pumping cycling along Moab's slick rock path. For the ultimate adventure head off-road on an optional hummer tour that climbs high into the hills to offer spectacular views of the La Sal mountain range and the valley below. Accommodation: Hotel included

  • Days 6 Bryce Canyon National Park (29 Dec)

If you want more awesome rock formations to gawk at then you're definitely in the right place. Famed for its hoodoos, you're in Bryce Canyon National Park. You're probably thinking 'what's a hoodoo when it's at home?' Actually, hoodoos are weird and wonderful rock spires arranged in rows. For close up views you'll have plenty of time to take advantage of the park's incredible system of trails. Wherever you walk, you will encounter a kaleidoscope of colours and a fantasy land of rock spires that'll leave you searching for your own way to describe this 'indescribable' place. As this is a winter trip, just imagine all of that with a sprinkling of snow, just magical! Accommodation: Budget Lodging included

  • Days 7 Zion National Park (30 Dec)

Onto Zion National Park, where a desert oasis is transformed by a blanket of snow. Here the warm winter temperatures are perfect for exploring the canyon without the summer crowds. For the best views of the park hike to the famous Angels Landing which offers 360 degrees of the entire park (subject to weather conditions) or try the short walk to 'Emerald Pools'. This national park is a favourite with all who visit and once you've had a chance to explore, we're pretty sure you'll agree! Accommodation: Hotel included
