  • Days 1-2 New York Area, Philadelphia & Washington DC

    Heading out of the New York area, the first stop is Philadelphia to check out the Liberty Bell, Independence Halls and the famous 'Rocky' steps. So grab your camera and recreate a piece of movie history! If all that running has got you hungry, you can hit the Reading Terminal Market to bargain for local treats or grab yourself a Philly cheese steak - one of the many famous local specialties and not to be missed! Washington DC is next on the agenda and we recommend heading into the centre as the sun sets for an illuminated view of the monuments. It makes for a spectacular first evening and a perfect introduction to the grandeur of the nation's capital. Explore the best of this historic city the next day with an included bike tour then take advantage of the great nightlife in picturesque Georgetown. Accommodation: Camping included

  • Days 3 Appalachian Mountains

    It's time to be awe-struck as you enter the Appalachian Mountains, a place full of natural beauty. This super-sized, 1,500 mile mountain chain is also home to the American Black Bear and former haunt of the Cherokee Indians! Although today is primarily a long drive day, you are rewarded by views of the Appalachian Mountains and dense greenery that this area is so well-known for. There is time for a short walk, so get out and stretch those legs in some of America's most beautiful scenery. You'll soon realise why people flock here in their thousands every year!   • Days 4 Tennessee

    It's time for some excitement as you enter the vibrant and eclectic Deep South. This is the home of country music so make sure you get your vocals at the ready because you'll be singing along in no time. Want more action? Don a lifejacket, grip a paddle and bounce along a churning stretch of white-water for pure adrenalin down the Ocoee River, which is the actual course used during the Centennial Olympic Games in 1996.   • Days 5-6 Nashville

    From honky-tonk bars to The Grand Ole Opry, they don't call Nashville the 'centre of the music world' for nothing! Find out all about the history of music at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, home to the largest collection of country music in the world. This place is full of life and you'll be hotfooting your way from one bar to the next checking out the live music. Accommodation: Camping included

  • Days 7 Memphis

    Located near the Mississippi River, Memphis has a long and colourful past. Why not visit Graceland, the home of Elvis Presley? Elvis had a huge influence on country, blues and rock 'n' roll music, and his former home is the second-most visited private home in the USA after the White House. Visit Sun Studios, the home of rock 'n' roll since 1950 and a place many a great name has passed through. There's more to Memphis than just music, pay a visit to the National Civil Rights Museum located in the former Lorraine Hotel and see the place where Martin Luther King was assassinated. In the evening head over to legendary Beale Street which really comes alive at night with neon-lit signs, live street performers and soul and blues music at every turn.   • Days 8-9 New Orleans

    You've arrived in the legendary 'Big Easy'! Enjoy an included tour through the swamps in search of gators! Head to the iconic Preservation Hall where they have live bands and jazz concerts almost every evening. Then it's time for a chug along the Mississippi River, Huckleberry Finn style. New Orleans simmers with Deep South charm and the food here is some of the tastiest around, so grab a po-boy, a bowl of gumbo or some home cooked jambalaya and pull up a chair in the French Quarter to watch the world go by. If the food of the Deep South gets your mouth watering why not join a cookery class at the New Orleans School of Cookery? By night, explore the bars in Frenchman Street for live music and dancing without the crowds. Accommodation: Apartment included

  • Days 10 Destin, Florida

    Get your first taste of American beach life as you hit Destin on Florida's Emerald Coast. An early start will ensure you some well earnt beach time. In the evening, the party spirit simmers into the small hours at the beachfront clubs! Accommodation: Camping included

  • Days 11 Florida & Natural Springs

    You're in the 'Sunshine State' so why not make the most of it? Head to one of Florida's many crystal clear natural springs. If there's time, you could perhaps explore this beautiful paradise by kayak! Accommodation: Camping included

  • Days 12-13 Orlando

    Embrace your inner kid with an optional visit to Disney World. Meet your childhood hero, Mickey Mouse, or if that isn't your thing battle Voldemort at Universal Studios' Harry Potter World or cross the final frontier at Kennedy Space Center, both of which are out of this world. Orlando is one big playground and after a full day satisfying your thirst for fun, you'll sleep like a baby. Accommodation: Camping included

  • Days 14 Orlando & Miami

    Before you head home, make sure you get your last fix of sandy beaches and glorious sunshine down at SoBe (aka South Beach). Stroll the art deco seafront, or if you're staying on for another night pose with the beautiful people in ultra-cool nightspots as you celebrate a fantastic trip. Be sure to spend a few extra days in this sun-soaked city to mingle with the locals and salsa the night away! This tour ends at approximately 17:00 hrs. We can book you post-tour accommodation at our gateway hotel if required. If you are planning to fly tonight, please do not book a flight that departs before 21:00 hrs.
